Pelvic floor PHYSIOTHERAPy

Pelvic floor physiotherapy includes treatment for the following diagnoses: urinary incontinence in women and men, irritable bladder (OAB), fecal incontinence and constipation, prolapse problems, acute and chronic pelvic girdle pain and problems related to pregnancy and the period after giving birth.

Pelvic floor physiotherapy always consists of a detailed anamnesis and specific examination of the pelvic floor. Depending on the pathology, the therapy consists of perception training, behavioral measures, biofeedback (EMG), electrical stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, manual techniques and active and holistic training. The aim is to restore normal function of the pelvic floor.

What happens at a check-up?
1. Anamnesis interview
2. Visual and tactical examination of the abdominal muscles and/or
3. Visual and tactical examination of the pelvic floor muscles (if agreed, with a vaginal or anal palpation examination)

4. Functional ultrasound examination in lying or standing position to visualize the pelvic floor function
5. Helpful tips and individual training recommendations


Who is the check-up suited for?

Basically for every woman of every age. 
For anyone who is unsure whether they can properly activate and relax their pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles. Especially for women after giving birth and/or when returning to training after giving birth. For specific problems such as urinary incontinence, prolapse of the pelvic organs (POP) for initial assessment.

1. If possible, book all 9 appointments at the beginning. This saves you long waiting times between individual sessions.
